8 min read

On 6 October 2026, Nap OS will be at the gradireland Graduate Careers Fair in Dublin — not simply to promote a product, but to listen to, understand and help the students and job seekers who are struggling with the transition from education to employment.

gradireland Graduate Careers Fair 2026

There is a moment that almost every graduate eventually experiences.

You open a graduate job advertisement.

You read the requirements.

“Relevant experience.”

“Previous industry experience.”

“Demonstrated ability.”

“Strong portfolio.”

“Proven track record.”

And then you look at your CV.

You have a degree.

You may have a master’s.

You may have completed assignments, exams, group projects and presentations. You may have spent years studying a subject you genuinely care about.

But when the employer asks:

“What have you actually done?”

You may not have a convincing answer.

That is the problem Nap OS has been working on.

And on 6 October 2026, we are taking that problem directly to one of Ireland’s largest early-career communities.

We are going to the gradireland Graduate Careers Fair

The gradireland Graduate Careers Fair 2026 takes place on 6 October 2026, from 10:30 to 16:30, at the RDS in Dublin.

According to gradireland, the event is open to students and job seekers at different stages — from first-year students to postgraduates and graduates — and brings together 80+ employers recruiting for graduate jobs and internships across a broad range of sectors.

For many attendees, this is an opportunity to meet employers face-to-face.

For us, it is something more.

It is an opportunity to meet the people behind the CVs.

Because a CV usually tells only a small part of someone’s story.

A CV might say:

MSc International Business
Marketing experience
Project experience
Excellent communication skills

But it doesn’t necessarily tell an employer:

What did this person actually build?

What problem did they solve?

Who did they work with?

What decisions did they make?

What happened because of their work?

Can someone verify it?

This is the gap Nap OS exists to address.

The graduate employment problem is not simply a CV problem

We often tell graduates to improve their CV.

Use a better template.

Add keywords.

Optimise LinkedIn.

Write stronger bullet points.

Practise interview questions.

These things matter.

But they don’t solve the underlying problem.

If someone has no meaningful work experience, making the CV look better does not magically create experience.

This creates what we call the experience paradox.

Employers want experience before giving someone an opportunity.

But graduates often need an opportunity before they can obtain meaningful experience.

The result is frustrating.

A student may be highly capable but have little evidence.

A graduate may understand the theory but have never had the opportunity to apply it in a real environment.

A job seeker may have spent months applying for positions but receive very little feedback.

And eventually, the candidate starts asking:

“How am I supposed to get experience if nobody gives me the opportunity to gain it?”

That is not simply an individual problem.

It is a structural problem in the transition between education and employment.

This is why Nap OS exists

Nap OS is being developed as a Workforce Operating System designed around a simple principle:

People should not have to wait for a traditional job before they can start building credible evidence of their capabilities.

We believe there should be another pathway.

Instead of simply telling someone:

“Get experience.”

We want to help create structured opportunities where they can do meaningful work, document what they did, demonstrate what they learned and build evidence that can be understood by employers.

That is the thinking behind Personalised Work Experience.

The objective isn’t to manufacture experience.

It is to make real work, projects, learning and contribution more visible, structured and verifiable.

Because there is a significant difference between saying:

“I am good at marketing.”

and being able to say:

“I worked on this project, solved this particular problem, produced these deliverables, collaborated with these people and generated this outcome.”

The second statement gives an employer something to evaluate.

Why meet 10,000 students and job seekers?

The reason we want to reach a large community at the gradireland Fair is not because we believe every student needs another careers platform.

There are already many excellent sources of careers information.

The fair itself brings together employers, students, graduates, seminars, CV support and career guidance.

Our question is different:

What happens after the careers fair?

A student can meet an employer.

They can exchange information.

They can submit a CV.

They can apply for an internship.

But what happens when the employer says:

“Come back when you have more experience”?

What happens to the student who attends the fair but doesn’t secure an opportunity?

What happens to the international graduate who has strong academic credentials but limited Irish work experience?

What happens to the student in first year who knows they need experience but doesn’t know where to start?

What happens to the graduate who has submitted 100 applications and still doesn’t have a meaningful portfolio?

These are the people we want to understand better.

The 10,000-student/job-seeker ambition is therefore not simply an audience number for us. It represents the scale of the problem we want to listen to and learn from.

We want to hear the stories behind the applications.

Bring us your CV. But more importantly, bring us your story.

If you are attending the gradireland Graduate Careers Fair, we want to meet you.

You can send your CV and your story to:

palani@napblog.com

But don’t just send us your CV.

Tell us what is happening.

Perhaps you have been applying for graduate jobs without success.

Perhaps you have qualifications but no professional experience.

Perhaps you have completed university projects that you don’t know how to present to employers.

Perhaps you have done freelance work, volunteering, student society work, research or personal projects but don’t know whether employers will consider them meaningful.

Perhaps you have an idea for a project but don’t have a team or structure to execute it.

Perhaps you simply don’t know what the next step should be.

We want to hear it.

Because those stories help us understand whether we are solving the right problem.

We don’t want to build Nap OS in isolation

This is an important part of why we are going to the fair.

A startup can sit in an office and build features.

It can design dashboards.

It can develop workflows.

It can create landing pages.

It can write product specifications.

But that does not necessarily mean it understands the user.

For Nap OS, the users are not abstract personas.

They are students trying to enter the workforce.

They are graduates trying to get their first professional opportunity.

They are job seekers trying to demonstrate capability.

They are employers trying to identify people they can trust.

So we need to keep talking to them.

The gradireland Graduate Careers Fair gives us a valuable environment to do exactly that.

We can listen.

We can ask questions.

We can understand where candidates struggle.

We can learn what employers actually look for.

And we can take those insights back into product development.

From “No Experience” to “Here is what I have done”

The long-term ambition of Nap OS is not to make graduates better at explaining why they deserve an opportunity.

It is to help them build stronger evidence that they can contribute.

Imagine a graduate attending an interview.

Instead of relying primarily on academic qualifications, generic skills and hypothetical answers, they can bring a body of documented work.

They can show projects.

They can explain decisions.

They can demonstrate collaboration.

They can present outcomes.

They can point to evidence.

They can explain what they learned from failure.

They can demonstrate progression over time.

That changes the conversation.

The question moves from:

“Do you have experience?”

towards:

“Show me what you have done.”

That is a much more useful conversation for both candidates and employers.

We also want to hear from employers

The graduate employment problem cannot be solved by candidates alone.

Employers have an equally important role.

If companies need work-ready graduates, they also need better ways of identifying potential.

Academic qualifications are useful signals.

CVs are useful signals.

Interviews are useful signals.

But they are imperfect.

Work samples, project evidence and demonstrated capability can provide additional signals.

That is why the future of Nap OS isn’t only about candidates.

It is about creating a stronger connection between people, projects, evidence and employers.

The ultimate objective is a workforce ecosystem where employers can discover people based not only on what they claim they can do, but also on what they have demonstrated.

Why this matters now

The transition from education to employment is changing.

Students are entering increasingly competitive graduate markets.

Employers are becoming more selective.

AI is changing how applications, CVs and recruitment processes work.

At the same time, candidates have more ways than ever to learn independently and work on projects.

But learning something and proving that you can apply it are not the same thing.

This is where we believe the next generation of career infrastructure needs to evolve.

Credentials tell us what someone studied.

CVs tell us how someone describes themselves.

Interviews tell us how someone communicates.

Work evidence can show us what someone actually did.

Nap OS is interested in connecting these pieces.

So why are we going to the fair?

The answer is simple.

Because we don’t want to build for graduates without speaking to graduates.

We want to meet people who are frustrated.

People who are uncertain.

People who have been rejected.

People who have qualifications but cannot get their first opportunity.

People who know they are capable but don’t yet have enough evidence to prove it.

And people who have already found creative ways to build experience outside traditional employment.

We want to learn from them.

We want to understand them.

And where Nap OS can help, we want to help.

If you are going to the gradireland Fair, come and talk to us

On 6 October 2026, we will be in Dublin alongside thousands of students, graduates, job seekers and employers.

For us, this isn’t just another event on the calendar.

It is part of the product journey.

It is part of the research.

It is part of the validation.

And most importantly, it is part of our mission to make the transition from education → experience → employment less dependent on luck.

If you are attending the gradireland Graduate Careers Fair and your story starts with:

“I have the qualification, but I don’t have the experience…”

we want to hear from you.

Send your CV + your story to:

palani@napblog.com

Or come and talk to the Nap OS team at the fair.

Because the future of employability shouldn’t begin with asking:

“Where did you get your experience?”

It should begin with a better question:

“What have you had the opportunity to do?”

And that is the question Nap OS is trying to change.

Nap OS — building a future where people can build evidence of capability before waiting for someone to give them permission to start.
